On 10th December, the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) II survey, conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), was published. Results show that the Nordic and Baltic countries score high, yet there are still important lessons to be learned. Lifelong learning seems to be part of the answer.
The Nordic and Baltic countries have conducted the data collection for the PIAAC main study in the period between August 2022 and June 2023.
The Nordic and Baltic countries started the data collection for the main study of PIAAC in the autumn of 2022. In the main survey, each country is required to collect at least 4 000 interviews in the period between August 2022 and April 2023.
The Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) is a survey measuring skills in literacy, numeracy and problem solving among the adult population. Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Latvia form the Nordic-Baltic PIAAC network.
The Nordic and Baltic countries have successfully conducted the PIAAC Field Test (FT) between May and September 2021.
