Most skills policies are designed and funded at national level – yet skills shortages and mismatches are experienced regionally.

This webinar explores how regions can take a leading role in competence matching, even when authority and funding remain national.

We move from general job titles to task-based learning and modular re-skilling to meet the urgent needs of the green and digital transition. With a shrinking workforce, the solution is not simply more students, but more agile systems for up-skilling the existing workforce.

The webinar is aimed at:

  • Public employment services
  • Regional and national policymakers
  • Education and training providers (VET, HE, adult learning)
  • Labour market organisations
  • Employers / sector representatives
  • Project partners and Nordic networks

Key takeaways:

  • Concrete examples from the Nordic countries: from workplace validation to modular re-skilling.
  • Practical insights that can be transferred into policy design, education and training
  • Provision, regional practice and partnership models.
  • Inspiration for building agile competence matching systems aligned with regional labour market needs.
  • Case presentations from the Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education (MYH) and The Service Centre for Continuous Learning and Employment (JOTPA)

This webinar is organised by the Nordic project Future Skills – Bridging the Competence Gap.
