Artificial Intelligence and the Future Labour market
AI is transforming jobs and working conditions, creating new opportunities and demanding new skills. While AI can automate routine tasks, it has the potential to make other roles more versatile, meaningful, and challenging. It is crucial to ensure equal access to education and training – and a social responsibility to make sure everyone benefits from AI.
Will AI boost Finnish working life?
AI changes working life, but in which direction? The Finnish social partners discuss the impact of AI on Finnish working life. To navigate this shift effectively, strong collaboration between the social partners is crucial. In Nordic working life there is a strong tradition for close cooperation between employers and employees when it comes to competence needs and working conditions. In this video, it is recommended that employers involve their employees in processes of implementing digital tools such as AI.
Digitalization at Work: Hype, Revolution, or Evolution?
Two experienced labour market experts are brought together to discuss the ongoing digitalization processes. One of their messages is to make sure that both leaders and union representatives have the possibility to obtain insight and knowledge about new technologies.
Another is to implement new digital tools such as AI by using a step-by-step approach. This gives an opportunity to try and fail, learn and adjust without investments becoming too big and risky. In this way, both the employee’s right to co-determination and the aim of better productivity and good working conditions are taken into account.
AI assisting VET teachers
AI influences facilitation of teaching and learning in many ways. In this video, an expert from the Danish Center for IT in Education (CIU) demonstrates and reflects upon how teachers can use AI as a knowledge base, a sparring partner and a means of helping the students to learn and to reflect on their own learning processes.
The role of Adult and Vocational Training in a more AI-driven Labour market
AI will change the labour market as well as professional working roles. For providers of courses and training, knowledge about AI and its impact is essential. Both vocational education and adult education have the opportunity to influence the students’ understanding of how professional roles and businesses need to change and adapt due to the development and increasing use of AI. In the video, it is recommended that the Nordic countries invest in education systems that offer continuous education as well as up-skilling and re-skilling.
